Gill Staffing is hiring on behalf of a respected leader in the scrap and recycling industry. We’re looking for a Scrap Scale Associate who thrives in a hands-on, customer-facing role and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Interact directly with customers to inspect, grade, and purchase incoming non-ferrous scrap materials
- Weigh, sort, and identify scrap, upgrading material when appropriate
- Record all transaction data using basic computer systems
- Operate forklifts, loaders, and small processing equipment
- Assist with packaging and preparing shipments according to sales orders
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Help manage inventory and track materials for shipment
What You Bring to the Team:
- At least 6 months of equipment operation experience (hi-lo, loader, etc.) preferred
- Basic understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous materials
- Solid computer and data entry skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A team-player mindset with the ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic environment
